If you keep your sea salt in a salt pig or container by your cooker, or if you are opening and closing the jar quite often it can become a little damp. This is completely natural, as salt, by its nature will absorb moisture. It is still perfectly fine to use, but here's how we dry out Achill Island Sea Salt in our kitchen without impacting the flavour or texture of the flakes.
Simply pop the sea salt lined tray in the oven at a low temperature from 50-70c for 10 mins and it should be completely dried out and good to use over your favourite dishes.
I absolutely adore their salt! I’ve been to their site and just loved every little detail. You can feel their passion and commitment in every product. The taste is great and I can’t go back to any other normal salt after tasting theirs. So rich in flavour! I really like to sprinkle the seaweed salt on salads and my scrambler eggs. I also send their salt to my family in Germany—they can’t get enough of it 🩵
