If you keep your sea salt in a salt pig or container by your cooker, or if you are opening and closing the jar quite often it can become a little damp. This is completely natural, as salt, by its nature will absorb moisture. It is still perfectly fine to use, but here's how we dry out Achill Island Sea Salt in our kitchen without impacting the flavour or texture of the flakes.
Simply pop the sea salt lined tray in the oven at a low temperature from 50-70c for 10 mins and it should be completely dried out and good to use over your favourite dishes.
I live in the U.S. but county Mayo is like my heart home. Anyway - this chocolate...SO worth every penny and the wait to ship through Irish customs and to the U.S. is well worth it.
Achill Smoke Sea Salt has completely elevated any dishes I've used it with. I added some to the beef mince for my smash sliders, added it to chimichurris, sprinkled it over sweet potatoes fries, finished my steaks with it and it adds a whole new level to the food. My family and friends now request that i used it any time I am cooking for them. My only regret is that I didn't buy more than one jar!
Sent this as a birthday present and recipient was very pleased as they had previously visited shop in Achill and enjoyed the quality and taste of the products. I love the seaweed salt myself.
