Achill Island Sea Salt Margarita

A Salty Margarita is your essential Summer Drink!


  • 60 ml tequila (silver or blanco)
  • 130 ml triple sec
  • 25ml freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 15 ml simple syrup (adjust to taste) - To make simple syrup, mix equal parts of sugar and water and heat until the sugar dissolves. Let it cool before using.
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime wedge and Achill Island Sea Salt flakes (for rimming the glass)


  1. Rim the glass: Take a lime wedge and run it around the rim of a cocktail glass  then dip the rim into a small plate with Achill Island Sea Salt.

  2. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Add the tequila, triple sec, lime juice, a pinch of Achill Island Sea Salt, and simple syrup to the shaker.

  3.  Put the lid on the cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds, chilling the mixture and mixing the flavors.

  4. Carefully strain the cocktail into the prepared glass filled with fresh ice cubes. You can use a strainer or the shaker's built-in strainer.

  5. Add a slice of lime to the rim of the glass to garnish.

  6. Sip and savor your classic Margarita! It's best enjoyed fresh, so serve it right away.
